What is Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a therapeutic discipline that has a holistic, whole-body approach to healthcare.
Its primary focus is to improve circulation and correct altered biomechanics by restoring balance among joints, muscles, and spine.
Osteopaths use manual techniques to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions such as arthritis, back pain, headaches, tennis elbow, digestive issues, and postural problems.
Treatment aims to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems without drugs or surgery.
Osteopaths may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.
How can Osteopathy help
Osteopathy is a non-invasive form of treatment that doesn’t rely on chemicals or surgery.
Instead, your Osteopath uses physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and stimulate your body’s own healing mechanisms.
Osteopathic patients include the young, older people, manual workers, office professionals, pregnant women, children and sportspeople.
Our registered Osteopath is happy to talk to you about your health and how you may benefit from osteopathic treatment.
