Sports Massage and Taping
Hi, my name is Oliver, and I am a qualified Sports Massage therapist. I work full-time within the NHS at Kettering General Hospital, part-time with Kettering Rugby Football Club and now provide private Sports Massage treatment at Podiatry Plus.
My services are available for regularly active and less active individuals alike – many people can benefit from a sports massage, not just those in sports. I offer therapeutic taping and soft tissue massage for all, combining the following techniques as appropriate:
-
Soft tissue release
-
Deep friction
-
Myofascial Release techniques
-
Muscle energy techniques
-
Trigger pointing
-
Rehabilitation advice
Outside of my professional role, I’m an avid runner, tackling distances up to 100-mile ultramarathons. I enjoy spending time in the gym and participating in other sports and activities.
I have been a client on the receiving end of regular sports massage in the lead-up to and in the aftermath of events. As a result, I understand and appreciate what a beneficial sports massage is and endeavour to provide a service that I would be happy to receive myself.
I hope to work alongside my clients to form a treatment that works specifically for them. For sports people, I offer:
-
Maintenance for ongoing training
-
Getting on top of an oncoming niggle
-
Pre-event tune up
-
Post-event recovery
More generally, I treat a wide variety of injuries and conditions that include but are not limited to:
-
Tendinopathies
-
Ligament sprains
-
Muscle strains
-
Plantar Fasciitis
-
Shin Splints (MTSS)
-
Compartment Syndrome (non-acute)
-
Osgood-Schlatter Disease
-
Osteoarthritis
-
Iliotibial (IT) band syndrome
-
Adhesive capsulitis (Frozen shoulder)
-
Lower back pain
-
Torticollis and Whiplash
Clinic times: Wednesday evenings. Other times may be available by arrangement.
